Little Chef’s Imperial Tie Fighter S’mores and Ice Cream Sandwiches
I would like to introduce you to my son, he is an avid baker and he has mixed his love of baking with his love of Star Wars! He was the inspiration behind the Bad Batch cookies and he is at it again with these Imperial Tie Fighter S’mores and Ice Cream sandwiches. Only difference here is that he did EVERYTHING himself. Take it away, Little Chef!!!
Yes, I know what you all are thinking, I am that much of a Star Wars fan that my inspiration for my first blogpost came from a Star Wars cookbook! Get ready Dave Filoni for some yummy Star Wars baking!!
My first thought was,
“I am going to make s’mores and cut graham crackers into Tie Wings”.
Then, I had the almighty idea of doing the whole thing from scratch. Oh let me tell you, it was one of the most fun things I’ve ever made! So, I hope you’ll enjoy baking and the most important part, EATING them as much as I did.
I made two versions, s’mores (completely my pinch) and the ice cream sandwiches! I also used royal icing on the outside instead of chocolate. Made for a more realistic Imperial Tie Fighter! Here is the template for the tie fighter, you’ll need to print and cut this out to get the tie fighter shape.

Ingredients
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and chocolate-hazelnut spread with a hand mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds or until softened. Add sugar and baking powder. Beat until combined, scraping sides of the bowl occasionally. Beat in egg, milk, and vanilla until combined. Beat in as much flour as you can with the mixer. Stir in the remaining flour with a wooden spoon.
- Shape dough into a disk. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and chill for 4-24 hours.
- Preheat oven to 375℉. Line two sheet pans with parchment paper. On a lightly floured surface, roll out chilled dough to a 20x12 inch rectangle. Using a knife cut out 20 wings using the wing template. Transfer wings with a spatula to prepared sheet pans. Prick each cookie several times with a fork. Bake 8-10 minutes or until the cookies are firm in the center. Let them cool for 5 minutes and then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cookies are completely cool decorate with royal icing to resemble a tie fighter. Let the royal icing set for about 30 minutes before assembling Ice Cream sandwiches.
- For Ice Cream sandwiches, place a small, round scoop (1/4 cup) of ice cream between two chilled cookies and very gently press together to avoid breaking the cookies. The ice cream should remain in the middle of the sandwich as pictured above.
- Mix the 1 1/2 tablespoons meringue powder, 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar, and 4 tablespoons of warm water. Add 2-3 drops of the black food coloring to get the richness of the black.
- The icing should drizzle if a spoon was put into it. If it is not add one teaspoon of warm water at a time to reach this consistency.
- Add icing to a writer bottle. This will make it easier to make the pattern for the Tie Defenders.
- Melt 1/2 cup chocolate chips and 1 tablespoon unsalted butter in a double boiler.
- Once the chocolate is cooled, put a tablespoon of the melted chocolate inside the tie fighter graham cracker and then toast the marshmallow till it just starts to bubble and place it on top of the cookie with the chocolate then put the other half of the cookie on top.
