Aunt Dee Dee’s Feta Dip
First of all thank you for the emails. I really appreciate all the support and requests! I love love love hearing what you have to say and I am listening!
Many of you have been asking about my go-to appetizer. Appetizers start with savory and delicious dips.
One of my go-to dips would be this feta dip. I have been making it for ten years!! Each time I make it, people love it! It is a consistent hit.
It originates from my Aunt Dee Dee who is extremely particular about the consistency of this dip (she likes it thicker).
Then my mother has her way (she likes more olive oil) and then I have mine (I added green onions). All three versions are delicious!
The truly wonderful thing about this dip is that it’s hard to mess up. You just need to keep in mind that feta cheese is salty so don’t add any additional salt!
As charcuterie boards are all the craze, this dip would pair well on the board. To level down the natural salt of the feta pair the dip with apples, pears, or bread. I pair mine with crackers and a fruit. Giving it the trifecta yum effect. Yes, it is a thing!!
Another thing about this dip is, it is SUPER EASY!!!!!
My aunt is particular on quite a few things, she is a fierce force and is always fun! Aunt Dee Dee thank you for sharing this years ago. You are a true gem.
Take this dip and make it your own. You will love it!
Hera’s Pinch
True feta cheese is made from sheep or goat’s milk.
Feta is stored and cultured in a whey brine, this is where it gets its distinctive salty taste.
