Butter Beer Smashup
This week I am devoting my blog to the new section that will be live on Friday, June 4th. I am super hyped and excited to announce the Mixology section!!! WOOO! Right in time for summer!
We have been meticulously testing and perfecting recipes. Held tastings and we will be debuting a beautiful selection!! My friends, mixology will be knocking on your door so please be sure to answer on June 4th.
Cue the music maestro!!! Close your eyes, well hold on a second. You have to read this… so don’t close your eyes! I am whisking you away on an adventure of sorcery, mystery and intrigue. First, let’s meet my friend Hagrid for a yummy treat at the Leaky Cauldron. Did you know this is the oldest pub in England? Pretty impressive!
Here it comes the Butter Beer Smashup. Completely a concoction of pure perfection! The butterscotch melts so easily into the creamy vanilla soda and the rum (extract) cuts the sweetness on a molecular level achieving the perfect sip. I imagine this is how a cloud would taste here, in Diagon Alley.
I must enjoy this drink in my bliss and Hagrid is chomping at the bit to introduce me to his friends, Harry, Hermione and Ron. Until we meet again!
Thank you to JK Rowling for introducing the world of Harry Potter to all of us!
Hera’s Pinch
In a colder environment heat up the cream soda before pouring it into the mug. By introducing the heat to the butter beer an added layer of warmth is acheieved, while still being delicious!
Butter Beer Smashup
Ingredients
Instructions
- In a saucepan add brown sugar and butter and heat till butter is dissolved into the brown sugar.
- Take the mixture off the heat and add salt, butterscotch syrup, apple cider vinegar, and rum extract.
- Stir the mixture until well mixed.
- Next, scoop out 3-4 scoops of ice cream and add them to the mixture and stir till the ice cream melts into the mixture (1-2 minutes).
- Put about 3-4 ice cubes into a copper mug (or any mug) and add the ice cream mixture to 3/4 full.
- Now, top off the drink with the cream soda till it starts to foam to the top.
Notes:
Tip: Take the ice cream out of the freezer before you start the drink mixture so it has time to soften up. Also, you may add a scoop of ice cream to the mug instead of mixing it with the hot mixture achieving a 'root beer effect'.
